To get the most out of your Optishot Golf Simulator here are a few tips and tricks to help you along:
Always backup your clubsets, stats and games
Using an impact screen
If you use an impact screen understand the width of your screen so that you can match it with the Optishot’s standard aspect ratio of 4:3. You can multiply your ceiling height by 1.333 to get the proper width for your screen so that you won’t see any bare areas and the image will fill the screen completely. Hang the screen using eye bolts with grommets.
Replace the stock turf pad
Swap out the green turf that comes with the Optishot and replace it with some medium shag carpet and trim to fit. Use velcro tape to attach the carpet to the unit. Or if you have the money you can pick up an awesome artificial turf mat like this one from All Turf Mats.
Using the optishot with 8 foot ceilings
Simply choke up on your 8 iron and use the no ball setting.
Tune your clubs
be sure to take advantage of the driving range to tune in your clubs for the best experience. The closer you can get your virtual clubs to perform to your real world clubs the better your game will be. Start by setting all your distances and use the driving range to see how accurately your “go to” club performs – that is the one that you KNOW how far you hit it. Don’t neglect your short game on the Optishot – you can put, hit bunker shots and really improve your game by practicing all aspects of your golf game on the simulator.
